Filipino tennis player Alexandra Eala has been described as one the breakout stars of the season after she beat three Grand Slam champions to reach the Miami Open semi-finals in March 2025.

The 20 year old made history in 2022 when she became the first player from the Philippines to win a junior grand slam singles trophy, winning at the US Open. She has made history at the US Open again in August 2025, becoming the first Filipino player to win a Grand Slam singles main draw match, beating world number 14 Clara Tauson. Off the court she has collaborated with Nike on a limited edition t-shirt honouring her heritage which she modelled in Vogue Philippines.
